What is ClO₂ & how does it work?
ClO₂ is a very strong oxidizing agent that reacts with organic matter through selective oxidation rather than substitution and it is non-carcinogenic. Being a biocide, it deactivates micro-organisms by attacking & penetrating their cell wall, disrupting the transport of nutrients across the cell wall and inhibiting protein synthesis.
Since this action occurs regardless of the metabolic state of the organism, it is effective against dormant organisms & spores.
It is an approved and allowed substance for human and animal consumption according to EU, USEPA, WHO standards and many other national drinking water regulations. It is also proven safe for use as directed on and around humans, plants, pets, food, materials and environment by both EPA and WHO and is currently used in USA and EU in dozens of industries, hospitals, laboratories, clinics and hundreds of applications.
